Manali is situated on the valley of the Beas River in Himachal Pradesh with an altitude of 2,050 m (6,726 ft). The Northern End of the Kullu Valley is where it is located. Situated at an altitude of 3979 mtrs above sea level and 51 kms outside Manali is the mighty Rohtang Pass – the gateway to Lahaul-Spiti valley. It affords a wide panoramic view of the mountains. Here one sees the majesty of the mountains at its height and splendor. At the top of the pass the air seems to glitter against the snow as you look down over herringboned ridges into the Lahaul valley. On the return journey, visit the Vashisht Kund andreach Manali by afternoon.
Evening – Manali Local Sightseeing
Hire a cab for sightseeing of places in and around Manali, like Hadimba temple, Manu temple, Van Vihar, Club House and Tibetan Monastry. You can also do some shopping at the local market.

Manali Travel Guide - Get Around
Manali being a popular tourist destination has a lot of options available in means of transportation. If you are not travelling by your own vehicle you can hire a cab from the taxi union office on the Mall road.
Buses are available; a fleet of them run the government. Though they are not that frequent, they are quite cheap. It is best to find the bus timings by from the local bus depot.
One can also hire bikes for a day or auto rikshaws to roam around the local sight seeing places.
