Situated at an altitude of 3979 mtrs above sea level and 51 kms outside Manali is the mighty Rohtang Pass – the gateway to Lahaul-Spiti valley. It affords a wide panoramic view of the mountains. Here one sees the majesty of the mountains at its height and splendor. At the top of the pass the air seems to glitter against the snow as you look down over herringboned ridges into the Lahaul valley. On the return journey, visit the Vashisht Kund andreach Manali by afternoon.

Evening – Manali Local Sightseeing
Hire a cab for sightseeing of places in and around Manali, like Hadimba temple, Manu temple, Van Vihar, Club House and Tibetan Monastry. You can also do some shopping at the local market.

Transportation

There are regular and comfortable AC Volvo bus services between Delhi and Manali run by Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and other private travel agents. It takes around 14 Hrs to reach Manali from Delhi. Other option is to reach Chandigarh by train and then take a Bus or Cab to Manali.
For sightseeing in and around Manali, hire a car from the local Taxi Operators Union office located right on the Mall. They normally offers a standard rate.
